Ann wasn’t thinking about how to make the best infant carrier, but she was thinking it would be different than baby carriers currently sold here. She wanted to make a different front-sided infant carrier for new parent friends. At the time, current American infant carriers were like aluminum framed backpacks, made out of heavy canvas and worn on parent's backs.

Soon thereafter, Ann further expanded the uniqueness of her idea, by including a zipper and a detachable, soft inner pouch that could be washed as well as adjusted for baby size.
